There will be a Craft Beer Garden sponsored by Ballast Point Brewing and Local Roots Kombucha. Attendees 21+ will be able to enjoy beer from Ballast Point, as well as Kombucha from Local Roots.
The money raised by the event will fund college scholarships for two local San Dieguito Academy graduating seniors pursuing musical studies. To contribute, donate or grab a ticket for the opportunity drawing featuring rad prizes from highway 101 businesses such as Leucadian Bing Surfboards, Vigilucci’s Trattoria Italiana, Choice Juicery, Mktspace, Fish 101, School of Rock Encinitas and way more.
The Leucadia 101 Main Street Association is a nonprofit community-based organization that works in partnership with its neighborhood, business owners, property owners, the City of Encinitas and the County of San Diego to preserve and revitalize the Leucadia North Coast Highway 101 Corridor. It offers a variety of events each year aimed at creating a unique atmosphere for its residents to explore the community and stimulate the local economy. THE BANDS
Jack Tempchin and Mrs. Henry (Set time 3:00 - 3:50)
Don’t miss legendary local acts Jack Tempchin and Mrs. Henry. The renowned Encinitas song writer, most known for penning hits for the Eagles such as “Peaceful Easy Feeling and “Already Gone” has teamed up with San Diego rock and roll power house Mrs. Henry. They’ve recently released a single “Rambling Freeborn Man” together and will be giving Leucadia a taste of their latest and greatest along with Jack’s timeless classics. San Diego’s most exciting supergroup of 2022 is coming live to you in Leucadia!!!
Amerikan Bear (set time 6:10-6:45)
Amerikan Bear’s scorching hot psychedelic attack pays homage to the forgotten 45’s of late 1960’s garage and underground rock. Lead man Nathan Wettstead played one of his first public shows as Amerikan Bear in 2010 at the very first Summer Fun on the 101. Since then he has written and recorded songs with Alex Maas of the Black Angels and performed on stage with David J Haskins of Bauhaus. Don’t miss Amerikan Bear’s signature howl, a mix of Love’s Arthur Lee and The Music Machine’s Sean Bonniwell.

Mrs. Henry (set time 4:00 - 4:45 )
In 2022 Mrs. Henry won the San Diego Music Awards for best Rock band and Best Rock Album for their latest, Keep On Rising - Act I : The Sex Sells, Love Drugs, Rock N Roll Society. They’ve been paying homage to The Band’s Last Waltz performances with communal tribute celebrations including a wide array of guests from San Diego’s local music scene at the Belly Up and beyond. This has led to the formation of their side project, The Band tribute act, Chest Fever. You may have noticed they are playing a second set with Encinitas legend Jack Tempchin at Summer Fun. They are relentlessly touring the west coast, and to top it all off, guitarist Daniel Cervantes founded Blind Owl Records. Mrs. Henry’s label unites recordings from an eclectic mix of acts spanning local heavies Drug Hunt and former Circle Jerks member Zander Shloss to enigmatic SD song writer writer Mike Pope and many more. These dudes are busy!
In concert, Mrs. Henry tethers cerebral excursions and soaring jams to life-affirming anthems. With spring-loaded authority, bassist Blake Dean and drummer Chad Lee balance the spiraling keyboard dexterity of Jody Bagley and the scorching guitar of Daniel Cervantes. All four, compelling lead singers, possess individual voices that intersect and complement one another, singular identities that unite in celebratory choruses. A can’t miss band at Summer Fun, Mrs. Henry will rock your world!
Colonel Clinton Davis String Band (set time 2:00 - 2:40)
San Diego is fortunate to have this Kentucky born troubadour call our beaches home. Clinton Ross Davis was very recently bestowed with the title of Colonel, the highest title of honor granted in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and given by its governor for his outstanding accomplishments in music. This deft multi-instrumentalist has mined the depths of America’s past for its old time and traditional music spanning Appalachia, the Delta, the Bayou, Bluegrass country, the great Southwest and beyond. Deering Banjos, for whom he is a brand ambassador, has called his playing “simply sublime.” Enjoy the ride, hopping a freight train with Colonel Clinton Davis’ String band backed by Encinitas’ favorite son, Tim McNalley on guitar.
Big Boss Bubeleh (set time 11:45 - 12:15)
Big Boss Bubeleh is Yael Gmach and Vlady Yarovinsky, two of the funkiest musicians to have garced Leucadia’s shoreline. Their musical explorations recall hot club-style jazz mixed with various eastern folk traditions and an extemporaneous element that refuses to be defined. Ted Burke calls Yael’s vocals “ wonderfully adaptable… at once making one think of a Dietrich-like chanteuse from the film Blue Angel, a playful, bubbling style with eccentric elongation of syllables and vocal emphasis where you don’t expect them.” Vlady’s bass grooves keep the party rolling. Big Boss Bubeleh invites you to dance, sing and show your belly to the moon with them!!!
The Morning Room (set time 12:30 - 1 )
The Morning Room is comprised of multi-instrumentalists Ryan King, Chris Avetta and Jules Stewart. The trio plays a lovely style of dream pop led by Chris Avetta’s silky vocal approach. These three will be setting the perfect vibe for summer day in Leucadia’s Roadside Park.
Monkey Jam (set time 1:15-1:45)
The winning youth band, Monkey Jam, from the Leucadia 101 Battle of the Bands will also take the stage. Lead singer Ainsley Savant blew the judges away with her powerful vocals backed by Monkey Jam’s tight and roaring rhythm section. Highly rocking revivals of the Cranberry’s “Zombie” and hard grooving originals were on tap at the Battle of the Bands. We can’t wait to hear what Monkey Jam has in store for Summer Fun, fresh off their Fiesta Del Sol performance in May.
