The local retail store, Seaweed and Gravel is a “collective conscious of non-conforming never grow up weirdos.” They carry new and vintage apparel for men and women, surfboards, motorcycles, home essentials, and more! In addition to their products, they have created a true sense of community through their events. You can learn more about their upcoming events and promotions via blog on their website(https://seaweedandgravel.com). Specifically, their next event will be held on November 5, The Makers Market. Alongside events, their blog posts a variety of motorcycling schedules.

The story of how this small business came to be is quite intriguing. The owner, David Parti, spent 20 years prior in the retail industry. After a while, he realized that the ‘little guys’ weren’t being represented enough, they were being outshined by the larger well-known retail companies. Flash Forward to 2012, David Parti met Brady Young, a custom motorcycle builder. The two of them realized that if they put both their passions together, they would be able to create something really beautiful.

Seaweed and Gravel has always been a supporter of Leucadia 101. For over eight years, they have been giving up their parking spots to present the Battle of Bands annual youth competition right here in Leucadia. They will be celebrating the community this month on Small Business Saturday, with all their merchandise being 20% off! They will also be supporting the Annual Leucadia 101 Scavenger Hunt happening November 26th at 11am, by donating a Seaweed & Gravel Swag Bag. Though they are allies of ‘shopping small’, buying from this company contributes LARGELY to your community.
